In April, five of our migrant middle school students spent a week in Seattle attending Reel Grrls’ Documentary Arts Camp where they wrote, filmed, edited, and produced “Who We Are”, a short documentary about what it is like to be a migrant student. The girls received full scholarships and stayed with host families. They plan to take the documentary to Washington DC at the end of this month in order to share their film with politicians, decision makers, and other students.
