I am enjoying the promise of sun and the presence of wildlife today. Blue Jays, Finches and a Woodpecker, blend their voices with the cars in the distance. The birds of all kinds have blessed us with their in entrance to our garden Additionally, I am soaking up the warmth of the sun and the beauty that surrounds me.

UNIONS and FARM WORKERS MARCH!
We celebrate and enjoy (or not) the beautiful flowers in our valley but it is these people whose hard labor creates the wonderful fields of flowers. They are also our caretakers of the locally grown food we enjoy. I am grateful to them. In our wonderful valley the farms grow carrots, beets, cauliflower, berries and much more.
Additionally, We celebrate our UNIONS. They were out in force at the March. It was Mayday! Many countries around the world actually take the day off and march for their union rights.

Tulip time in the Valley!! This year I entered the Tulip contest and one of my photos was the editors pick and displayed in the local paper. It did not come out very well in the paper. Oh well, I wanted to give this tulip picture a dreamy feeling. When you dream everything else is in the background and the lonely flower stands out above all.
This picture was taken April 2011. The tulips should have been showing their colors but the weather has been so cold they are late for their party. So, instead of sea of reds, pinks etc. we have the sunshine of our valley, our daffodils. The daffodils remind us that all is not lost to the dark and cold of winter. They remind us that change is coming. I love the daffodils.
